Ten.Two Thousand, Seven Hundred & Ten
Dusky sunrise.
No weighted vest, and yet I don’t feel any faster.
Five minutes of meditation.
Sitting in the dark for the first several minutes.
Dark, slick-backed hair. White polo and tight white pants. Black velvet loafers. A green blazer and a coordinating Goyard. He’s eating “pasta italiano” from a large glass bowl. I nickname him “Mr. Italiano”. I can smell his cologne before I even come down the stairs.
Let’s just rip the Band-Aid off today.
Afternoon walk. We make it all the way to the end of the drive. On the way back, we sample a few blackberries.
We’re all tired. But maybe we’re just all out of shape.
Standing in the parking lot talking in the parking lot, just like the old days…last month. Ha!
